Support someone you know living with bipolar disorder on World Bipolar Day, March 30th
March 30th, the birthday of Vincent van Gogh, is World Bipolar Day. Van Gogh is thought to have lived with a bipolar condition (also known as manic-depressive illness). A brain disorder, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe: dramatic mood swings — from overly “high” and/or irritable to sad and hopeless, and then back again. Severe changes in energy and behavior go along with these changes in mood. They can result in damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide. With treatment, people with this brain disorder can and do lead full and productive lives.
