Like counties across California, Sonoma County receives an annual disbursement of MHSA (Mental Health Services Act) funds that come from a State personal income tax levied on those who earn $1M or more each year. This tax was approved by California voters in 2004. The purpose of this annual meeting is to hear comments on the county’s proposed MHSA expenditures for 2019-2020, as well as provide an annual report on the services MHSA funds supported in 2017-2018. Public comments are welcome, but limited to three minutes each.
This is an opportunity for community voices to be heard. Note that MHSA funds partially support the work of NAMI Sonoma County. The draft MHSA Plan Update is available for review online; for more information, call 707-565-4850.
