Our flagship educational program is nationally recognized as an excellent primer for family members, partners, friends and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness. The course, offered free of charge, is designed to: increase understanding of what it is like to live with mental illness; what research is being done to address the challenges of mental illness; to increase coping and improve communication skills and to empower participants to become advocates for their loved one. Family-To-Family is a SAMHSA-designated “evidence-based” program. The course consists of 12 two-and-a-half hour sessions that meet weekly. Classes are conducted by trained family members who have not only taken Family-to-Family previously but have lived the experience.
